Dear fellow alumni:
Congratulations not only on your graduation but on your selection of St. Bonaventure in the first place. I hope you look back on that decision as being wise indeed!
Following my graduation all those years ago, I found the world away from St. Bonaventure to be somewhat cold and indifferent. The Franciscan atmosphere that I enjoyed on campus seemed remote and far away. In retrospect, that was because I was missing the point. I was expecting others to provide that warm relationship to ME rather than grasping that it was now my duty to provide it to THEM.
I hope your career and other endeavors bring you much success, happiness and satisfaction. But as you follow your dreams, don’t forget to extend that Bonaventure spirit to others. If you do, that will be a big part of your success in life.
